Joe is a Research Associate working on the PACE-MAP project at Swansea University, where his primary responsibilities include coordinating and delivering comprehensive physical assessments for driver-athletes, as well as leading targeted research projects that address motorsport-specific performance questions.

Joe holds a background in Sport and Exercise Physiology and completed a PhD examining the physiological health and performance implications of diverse habitual dietary patterns. His expertise spans musculoskeletal and cardiovascular imaging, dietary assessment, exercise testing and longitudinal physiological monitoring.

In his current role, Joe works collaboratively with the broader PACE-MAP research team to investigate, develop, and validate evidence-based performance preparation strategies for both driver-athletes and pit crew members. His work bridges applied physiology and elite motorsport practice, with the goal of enhancing safety, performance, and recovery across both driver-athlete and pit crew populations.
